The YSR Nadu Nedu Scheme, launched by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, aims to enhance the infrastructure of schools in a systematic manner to meet the required standards. Over a period of three years starting from 2019-20, the infrastructure of schools will be transformed into mission mode in a phased manner. Implementation of this scheme is expected to improve learning outcomes and decrease the dropout rate. The scheme covers a total of 44,512 schools, including residential schools, and will include nine infrastructure components.

In the first phase, 15,715 schools were covered, and the Chief Minister has instructed officials to focus on the second phase of the Nadu Nedu program. The government has already spent Rs. 3650 crores for the first phase, and it is estimated that it will spend Rs. 4535 crores for the second phase, which will cover 12,663 schools.

Inauguration Of School Buildings Under the YSR Nada Nedu Scheme

As part of the YSR Nadu Nedu Program, the Panchayat Raj Minister of the state, Peddireddy Ramchandra Reddy, inaugurated newly built school buildings in Pedda Upparapalli village of Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district. The cost of these buildings was Rs. 60.35 lakhs, and their inauguration took place on April 3, 2022. The Minister also announced that additional buildings would be constructed soon at a cost of Rs. 96 lakhs. During the same event, the Minister laid the foundation stone for various development works in the Punganur assembly constituency.

Additionally, overhead water tanks are being built in every village within the above-mentioned constituencies.
